and he makes a couple of statements. This is going to chapter 3, verse 1. I want to read to you what Nicodemus says.

Now there was a Pharisee a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish

ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from

God for no one could perform the signs you're doing if God were not with him.

So you already get a sense that Nicodemus knows something about Jesus.

The question is how accurate is his understanding of Jesus.

And he comes in and he says, he read it with me again, it's in the second verse I think yeah second verse

So Nicodemus already knows that Jesus is something,

but what? Now Jesus could easily have just kind of said that's good. But he does it. He spends the next 15 verses kind of demonstrating to Nicodemus that believe that is not good enough.
