that have Bibles grab one I grab one also and I realized right away that you guys need

to get large print Bibles because I'm so old I can't read but I happen to have this stand here so I will read to you now.

I won't do that but it's pretty bad.

I want you to turn to John Chapter 3 with me because there's something that you guys have been covering in this

Mind The Gap series that I think is illustrated really well and John's interaction with Nicodemus, right?

The guy who comes in the Jewish leadership in the middle

of the night doesn't want to be seen by any of his buddies talking to Jesus and then he gets there

and he makes a couple of statements. This is going to chapter 3, verse 1. I want to read to you what Nicodemus says.

Now there was a Pharisee a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish

ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from

God for no one could perform the signs you're doing if God were not with him.

So you already get a sense that Nicodemus knows something about Jesus.

The question is how accurate is his understanding of Jesus.

And he comes in and he says, he read it with me again, it's in the second verse I think yeah second verse

is he came to Jesus at night and said rabbi we know what we know that you are a teacher who's come from God.

Isn't that interesting?

So Nicodemus already knows that Jesus is something,

but what? Now Jesus could easily have just kind of said that's good. But he does it. He spends the next 15 verses kind of demonstrating to Nicodemus that believe that is not good enough.

You need something else. So this is football Sunday.
