Okay, so I am a strong believer that a life well lived with fulfillment, happiness, resilience, is a life that has some degree of self-love and self-compassion.

And the reason for this is that at the end of the day,

we do have to navigate our experience, ourselves.

but you can have great friends, support, family. You can have an incredibly fortunate and privileged life

and still have to navigate your own thoughts,

your own emotions, your own pains, and eventually your own transition from this life.

That is a big journey for anyone.

It's never just a walk in the park.

And what is often the case is that we can spend a lot of time rearranging our external

world, or many people focus primarily on arranging the external world, even arranging

our support systems in a really powerful and

good way, all of which is useful, but don't work as much on rearranging our internal world

and how we relate to ourselves. And then so many things can fall in place, and yet there's

still a harsh inner critic. There's holding yourself

to a high standard, but in a way that is, if you don't achieve this, you're not good enough,

you're not worthy. So there's this whole other level of tension and suffering that is created
