Welcome into another gun talk hunt today. I'm joined by a close dear friend of mine. And he has been on the show before, but before I get into that, I'm going to let you know right now, we are today brought to you by ATN, the future of optics. They've got thermals and night vision, all that cool stuff, but give him a check out. They actually just launched something with them.

Masio, so they've got patterned night vision now, so the animals can't see you at night. That's a different, that's a different story. But no, today, today we're talking about range finding and the importance of really and one company actually is the leader in range finding technology and they have marked 25 years worth of it. That's Bush Nell and joining me today from Bush Nell is

Mr. Matt Rice, Matt, how you doing? I'm doing good KJR you man. And I'm doing good. I'm hanging in there. You know, earlier this week, I kind of reached out to you and I, I kind of said, well, I got a press release and it's very interesting because, you know, range finding and hunting go hand in hand, like you, you really cannot have one without the other, because it's just a, it's a necessary part of the game. And something that was once done by Woodsman

1:30.0

and just practice is now done by the click of a button. And I'm oversimplifying that, right?

1:38.0

Maybe just a little bit, but we want to be a little too much on that. I appreciate it. Matt's really, Matt actually is really good at belittling me, especially when it comes to shooting. The dude can just flat out shoot. I'd put you up against anybody.

1:57.0

But no range. Yeah, let me know. Let me know what it's in that check. I forgot the address. So I'll be sure to do that after we get off. Oh, thank you.

2:05.0

So I think you hit on it, you know, real well, actually, to me, the range finder is probably the most overlooked piece of gear, but at the same time, this is the most important thing.

2:14.0

We have hunters taken to the field. And, you know, when you step back and look at the 25 years, the Bush Nells, and putting the innovation.

2:22.0

There's a lot of interesting story and speaking to our pros and what people did before laser range finder. And it's a story that just had to be told. So we're really excited to be announcing our 25th anniversary. And I got a year of active activity.

2:39.0

And it's and you guys are doing all these great giveaways, but you guys got a lot of pro staff on hand to be able to tell that story and illustrate the story of range finders.

2:50.0

And Matt, I'm going to just go ahead and say we're getting older. And I was I know the like I have experience with one of the first innovations from Bush Nell range finders.

3:05.0

And it was this kind of rectangle piece of equipment that you kind of look at and go, oh, I don't know really how much I would use that. I'm pretty good. But once you started using it, it was actually really accurate, like very, very accurate.

3:25.0

I mean, they come a long way. I mean, what looked like a block of the now, you know, ergonomic Bluetooth Wi-Fi integrated politics. I mean, we've just got the full gamut in that.

3:40.0

But you know, Bush Nell is the first of a lot of that innovation along the way. And that's really what we wanted, you know, help bring about it.

3:48.0

And give people, you know, telling their stories and talking about what they did with before laser range finder and, you know, how it's advanced honey today. And you hit on it, you know, we've got some of the best pro staff that you could name from the bone collectors, the white self free team real tree.

4:06.0

You know, the new it goes on and on it. We've got some really great videos that I would encourage people to go, you know, look at our planning page on the Bush Nell.com, go to Facebook, go to Instagram.

4:17.0

But these guys, when they start telling some stories about what they did before, it just kind of leaves you.

4:23.0

It's kind of mind-boggling like, how did we even, how did you even harvest it here? Right before range finders and I mean, yes, it was there. It just it took a lot of effort, a lot more effort to what we.

4:34.0

Sometimes I think we put in the day. Yeah, just because it is so simple. Well, and I mean, man, 25 years ago, I'll tell you exactly how I did it.

4:43.0

I would go out there preseason and I would pre mark my areas. I would pre mark them with, you know, those like like electrical flags like you get the guys come and spray paint your yard and they'll stick in flags.

4:57.0

I would get those and mark them alternate markings because and I would pray that a deer would walk in between those flags because then I kind of had an idea.

5:09.0

And that's where I started really starting to go, okay, how far is that? And you would sit there and you would like look at something and you'd like take guesses.
