0:07.6	retired NYPD, Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD. You know, folks, with this new
0:15.5	mayor, Mamdami, who takes office in the beginning of January. I think it's January 2nd.
0:22.5	A new philosophy of policing will be taken place.
0:27.2	And as I stated in a previous episode,
0:31.8	if it's not broke, why are you fixing it?
0:35.5	And why are you fixing it with unproven untested ways to use
0:44.8	more civilians and eliminate police officers i'd be the first one to agree that too many tasks
0:53.6	are assigned to an NYPD police officer.
0:57.5	They have to deal with the homeless problem.
1:00.0	Perhaps that might be better dealt with with civilians.
1:04.2	However, it crosses into the breaking of the law.
1:09.7	It crosses into mental health issues, it crosses into crime.
1:15.9	So if you send civilians, for example, down into the subway with not accompanied by police,
1:26.3	you're going to have a lot of injured and dead social worker
1:30.2	civilians for this experiment.
1:34.9	And I don't think it's well thought of.
1:37.6	It's a progressive ideology.
1:40.8	And I think that they're going to find out in a very hard, difficult way.
1:49.5	That is perhaps not the way to go.
1:53.4	So NYPD, the Mamd, is planning to spend $1 billion, that's with a B, dollars to replace cops.
2:02.3	What if the answer to stopping crime wasn't more cops, but making them less necessary?
