So we have an important debate on the table, which is the

wintery precipitation that fell from the sky in Washington the past two days.

Does that count as snow? Did we have a snow storm?

I had to shovel it. It jumped to me. I don't think it was a snow storm,

but it was a it was a legitimate snowfall. It was enough to

to give the dogs something to snuffle around in and

bend something to shovel. And yeah, also some ice too.

Also, because of the fencing around the Capitol, this was the first year that

there was not the elaborate lobbying campaign on Capitol Hill,

because Capitol Hill has the best sledding. And the Capitol Hill police

are always very cravy about kids going to sled. And so our neighborhood

listserv the first snowfall is always like a buzz with who works for

which member who can lobby the Capitol police to be like, think of the

children, let them sled you monster. And like who are the softies that are

willing to intervene? Who isn't? And this year we just we didn't even get to

do it because there are giant fences everywhere.

This year if you sled you get blown up. I will say though that on my Twitter

feed last night, I saw the most awesome thing. I don't know whether it was

in Washington or somewhere else, but there was a snowman. And in back of it,

a sculptor was making a giant snow tyrannosaurus chasing the snowman.

Okay, that's a legitimate snowman. It looked fun. No question.

All right. Well, if the kids had fun, then it counts.
