It's January 24th, 2020. Today marks the fourth day of arguments in the impeachment trial

of President Donald J. Trump and the third and final day of House Managers' formal

presentation to senators, laying out their case for removing the president from office.

I'm Margaret Taylor, senior editor at Law Fair. In the first three episodes of this podcast,

we condense each day of the Senate impeachment trial proceedings down to a digestible length.

No commentary, no analysis. Just the trial itself in a condensed form. For the last two days,

House Managers laid out to senators the facts and support a conviction and removal of the president

and offered constitutional, historical, and legal context for the impeachment power.

Friday was their last day to make their case, and on Saturday, the president's legal team will take

the lectern and offer their arguments in defense of the president. This is the impeachment,

episode four, House Managers' third day of presentations.

The House Managers started the day by continuing the presentation of their case against President

Trump for the first article of impeachment, abuse of power. House manager Jason Crowe.

Now, since we won't have an opportunity to respond to the president's presentation,

I'm going to take a minute to respond to some of the arguments that I expect them to make.

You will notice I'm sure that they will ignore significant portions of the evidence while trying

the cherry pick individual statements here and there to manufacture defenses. But don't be fooled.
