This is Derek Bodner, joined by Rich Hoffman, joined for the second time in two days, as it turns out. As the previous

podcast, we did yesterday, was recorded legitimately less than two hours before news came out

that James Hard would miss up to a month. So most of the topics we discussed just aren't quite as

relevant anymore. So we're redoing the pod. It's not the first time we've had to redo a pod because news invalidate, by the way. This happens more than I think you would expect. In fact, I think it's probably happened enough that I think some long-time listeners probably think we're doing a bit. But it's not a bit, I promise you. Apparently we have pretty bad timing.

Pretty bad timing.

Probably not the last time.

Not as bad timing as Nick Castiano has at the plate right now, but, you know, pretty bad timing nonetheless.

Well, yeah, now we have a gut punch World Series loss in the...

It's incredible the roller coaster ride that is a baseball playoff series and a baseball playoffs.

And I think intellectually I knew that, but just going through it when you actually care about it and there are stakes, it's just, I mean, you're sitting there.

And look, I think Houston's a better team.

I think they've been a better team throughout the series.

I think they've played better baseball and they've made fewer mistakes, especially over the last two games. But you're just sitting there watching there in the eighth inning, and Schwerver just completely destroys a ball right down the first baseline, like right on the bag. But the guy just happens to be standing right at that exact spot because he's holding

a runner on at first base. You know, if it were second and third, instead of first and third, Schwerber's looking at a two-out, two-run double to take the lead, but instead it's the final out, the inning's over, and you're heading the ninth down a run. And it's a gut punch, man. It's just, it's devastating.

That game sucked because it was the first time I thought, oh, man, I think the Phillies generally played a better game than them.
