I worked in a radio factory.

What did you really do during the war?

Are you paying attention?

The hit film about Alan Turing, The Imitation Game,

has been nominated for eight Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress.

And to work in the environs where all this happened,

where the people breathed, lived, loved, worked, struggled, kept secrets,

were heroic, quietly, stoically, was really, really overwhelming.

It was a very important part of the film.

I think it wouldn't have felt right

not to have had a moment with Bletchie Park featuring properly.

And the parts that we were able to feature that were Bletchie

were just magic moments in the filming sort of schedule.

It really was very special.

I'd always wanted to write about him to tell his story on screen.

And over the years, I kept hoping someone would make a proper Alan Turing biopic

and as, you know, just as a fan of films as someone who wanted to see that story.

And I feel so lucky that I years later got to be one of the people to get to do it.
