Hello there, everyday Americans, Paul Engel here with the Constitution study, where we read and study the Constitution,

teach the rising generation be free. So glad you could join me today.

You know, when I hear people talk about democracy nowadays,

all I could think of is that line from Enigo Montoya.

You keep using the word.

I don't think it means what you think it means.

I don't think, you know, people use the word democracy.

I don't think it means what they think it means, or I should say, leads to the outcome

that I think they think it means, or I should say leads to the outcome that I think they

think it does. You know, people talk about America being a democracy and saving Western

democracies, and we have the foundation for the defense of democracies. And everyone sounds like,

oh, this is really great. This is really important, this is the future of the world,

except, again, that's not what our founding father thought. Take, for example, Noah Webster.

He wrote, many plausible things may be said in favor of pure democracy, many in favor of

uniting the representatives of the people in a single house, but uniform experiences proved both to be inconsistent with the peace of society and the rights of

free men.

See, the problem is we think that democracy is designed to protect our rights when it's not.

And again, Noel Webster, he wasn't the only person.
