Once upon a time there was a brother and sister named Luke and Nora, who lived in a quiet

neighborhood where nothing too exciting ever seemed to happen. But one winter morning, something did happen.

There was a blizzard that had rolled into town overnight.

It snowed harder in their town than it had in years,

and by the time the sun finally came up the next morning,

everything outside was buried under the biggest snowfall they

had ever seen. The snow was piled so high the front door wouldn't even open. Guess what?

Their dad came in and said with a grin, no school today. No school? Luken Norris said as

they raced to the window. Snow day! Yes! So they ran all over

the house and screamed their heads off for a few minutes until the excitement eventually died down.

And after breakfast, they decided to put on their snow gear and they headed into their backyard, where

the snow was so deep, they

had to put on snow shoes or they'd sink right in all the way up to their necks.

Hey, we should build an igloo, Luke said.

Ha ha, good one, Dad said, thinking that they were both joking.

But then he looked at their faces and saw that they were both dead serious.

Okay, well, I guess good luck.

You guys better get started, Dad said.

So they found one of their mom's old breadpans in the kitchen

and decided it would be perfect to use as a snowmold so they could

make bricks out of the snow.

So they grabbed it and they got to work.
