Let's just take a peep into the gospel according to Luke, chapter 15.

Many of us know this to be the story of the prodigal.

Now as we're going through these particular verses, let's keep in mind that the quality of life that you and I enjoy, while we are in planet Earth, while we are in this fallen world the quality of life

you and I enjoy is proportional to our choices the quality of life that you and I enjoy while we're here on

planet Earth, whether that is relationally, socially, economically, physically, emotionally,

spiritually, the quality of life that we enjoy is proportional to the choices that

you and I will make.

The Gospel according to Luke, chapter number 15,

will start reading at verse number 11,

and he said a certain man had two sons and the younger

of them said to his father father give me the portion of goods that falleth to me.

I want all the money that I'm supposed to get and I want it before you die.

I want it right now.

And so the father divided unto now.

And so the father divided unto them his living.

Verse 13 and not many days after the younger son gathered all together and took his journey into a far country.

So let's envision now that he has stepped away from the father's protection. He's stepped away from the

father's counsel. He has stepped away from the father's wisdom. He has gone

into a far country. Let's see this young person walking away from God.

Notice that with his money, with his inheritance there,

the Bible says he wasted his substance.

He not only wasted the materialistic wealth that he had,
