Here's the reality. We can all from time to time

let the urgent overwhelm the important, even here at Pantsuit Politics. It is easier in a really

weird way that there is so much on a daily basis to be outraged by. So we can just chase the outrage. And the internet,

in fact, rewards you for that. When we could rightfully be so mad about how much J.D. Vance

goes on vacation or come to a simple conclusion about RFK's dismantling of the MRNA research.

Why wouldn't we?

Sitting down to wade through the morass of harder challenges that don't break down easily along party lines is very, very easy to put off for another day. It's a new season on Pansy Politics,

though, and our theme is no day but today. So we want to really face complex problems,

even when they create anxiety, even when they don't lend themselves to comfortable,

tidy conclusions, things we've been putting off, things like extreme weather, things like the worsening

situation in Gaza, and things like artificial intelligence. The back burner, long simmering issues

that are easy to procrastinate on when there are so many five alarm fires we want to get into.

So today, we're going to do that.

We're going to tackle artificial intelligence, and we're going to exercise the demons,

release, the bees, whatever you want to call it.

We're going to name all of our anxiety and fears, because we can't get anywhere until we do that first.

So this is going to feel like an introductory conversation about AI.

We've talked about it before, but we really see this as a kickoff to a new series of discussions until we do that first. So this is going to feel like an introductory conversation about AI.
