Welcome to Book Talk for Book Talk, a literary podcast where we deep dive into the writings of your favorite novels.

This summer, we are hosting our Romanticie edition of a book club while we prepare for our 15-part literary analysis of Sarah J. Mass's A House of Sky and Breath.

This is Jack. And I'm Amy, and each week we'll discuss

one book from our summer book club roster. By using our literary background, we'll provide our

first blush analysis of each book, as well as discuss listener thoughts. This week, we are discussing

the Hurricane Wars by Tha Gwanzen.

Oh, I will say some of the compliments are the Kylo Ren of it all.

You know, people do love him, that it was inspired by Kylo Ren, that someone said that they

loved that it was basically New Age Star Wars.

I'm like, I don't think anyone's told them yet. And like people do love Kylo here. Now, this is what I mean when I say that

it is fan fiction Kylo, not movie Kylo. Because I can tell, I could tell, God, I'm trying to remember the moments where I was like I think the boyishness like you can kind of guess some of those aspects from the movie and stuff but oh here's one here's one of the examples so Alaric has his guard friend and his guard just kind of like sass him and And he says something like one of these days I'll get these guys in order. But he's not going to because it shows that he's not like a real bad guy. Yeah. That's that that's a fan fiction thing. Real Kyle O'Ren would have killed them in that moment. It's, you know, or they're busy talking shit about him behind his back, but never to his

face. So there's, you know, I want people to say like, you know, oh, this is Kylo Ren. I'm like, no, that's a fan fiction, Kylo. Like, you know, I'm sure within the fanfic community, you have, he's a grumpy, we have grumpy sunshine. That's what it comes down to. We have grumpy Kylo and happy Ray. Yeah. And, you know, even grumpy guy, you're going to have to show some redeeming quality.

So we're going to introduce a character that is going to be the guy who real, the person that really gets to Kylo show that he's a real, he's a nice guy in the end.

Yep. Yep. He's he's all talk and not a lot of aggression. Now, there will be aggression from Alaric
