Welcome to the Untold Story podcast. I'm Martha McCallum, and I'm very glad to be joined by Brett Tolman today to talk a little bit about what's going on with the Biden investigation.

So, Brett, thank you very much for being with me today.

Thanks for having me, Martha. You know, I always like to, and I know we've done this before, but for anybody who's listening for the first time to a discussion that we're having, I always

like to ask you to give a little bit of background in terms of your own background and where

you're coming from. As you look at this Biden sort of layered scandal through your own experience as a U.S.

attorney and tell us a little bit about where you come at this from.

Well, thanks, Martha.

Yeah.

You know, I've spent now it's over 25 years in the federal criminal justice system, 10 as a federal prosecutor and four years as a

U.S. attorney appointed by President Bush. I spent four years in the United States Senate as

chief counsel over crime and terrorism. So I guess, you know, part of me has made the criminal law

my life's focus.

And so for me, I come at a lot of these issues about, you know, national security and criminal

investigations with an eye towards, you know, what is the Justice Department doing?

What's the evolution of, you know, the politics involved?

And how does it affect all of us in our everyday lives?
