Well, we meet at a terribly fraught time in Afghanistan.

The situation at the Kabul airport and around the country seems to be changing by the hour, Jean,

with the Taliban now preventing people from getting to the airport,

clashes looming with resistance fighters in the north.

We're going to be leading the show with your interesting interview with Bill Murray,

a retired top former CIA operations official,

who was chief of station in a number of foreign capitals, including Pakistan.

Later in the show, I'll be talking with Jacob Zen,

an expert on extremist militant movements in Africa at Georgetown University Center for Security Studies.

Here's part of what he said.

Well, I think it's true that the Biden administration has not articulated any plan for Africa at all.

Which is much different than, say, the Obama administration,

which at least made big plans that might not have executed them.
