Jay and Don met five years ago when HP's PR team sent Jay and other board members to promote Carly Fiorina's compact merger to the media.

The two have spoken frequently on the phone in the intervening years, but this is the first time they've met in person.

Jay's recently returned from an intense annual retreat with the HP board and he's ready to online.

So Jay, how was it? You take the hike I recommended?

No, I did not.

I kept it so busy we didn't finish until 10 pm most nights.

And you spent all that time on HP business?

Yeah, yeah we did. Mark has a lot of exciting plans and wanted to get our input.
