At 2 o'clock today, a black eye for the Houston Police Department, where it will be revealed and

discussed, although I think a lot will still be hidden, that the

Houston Police Department was not following up on sexual assault cases.

That's rape.

And for years.

And the Sylvester Turner legacy is going to be corruption,

thievary. corruption,

thievary, William Paul Thomas going to prison, the director of marketing going to prison for kickbacks,

the affordable housing deal where he fired the the housing director who was a

whistleblower of and I want to be very clear because sometimes nuance and

complexity and subtlety does not convey well, I don't convey

it well.

So my, but I want to make sure you understand this.

This is not the fault of rank and file cops.

This is the fault of the top offices of the police department.

This is a decision that is made.

This is the generals, not the soldiers. The Houston

Police Officers Union has been very vocal in their anger over this.

This is not their fault.

They represent the officers and they just want to fight crime and they know that this was a decision that was made that is a terrible

terrible thing. The president of the Houston Police Officers Union is Doug

Griffith and he's our guest. Doug, what was your reaction when you learned this after you got over the shock, I suppose?
