so today our focus is the search for a third way, right?

The binary choices in a bunch of avenues of our politics and our international space are showing us that we're desperate for third ways, even if they're not likely.

For instance, it seems the binary choices for House Republicans are not enough incentive to compromise around one candidate

for speaker.

In the presidential race, there continues to be voter angst in the middle of the electorate

with the binary choices of Biden and Trump.

Even in the foreign policy arena when it comes to the Israeli-Palestinian

situation the search for a third-way solution is what remains so elusive and

yet is seen by many as the only way out of that quagmire.

Now in a moment we're going to go deep into the governance issues

inside the House of Representatives

as it appears their third way option,

a temporary caretaker speaker through the end of this calendar year is actually more plausible.

And is there an opportunity here for it to set an example that might be a cure to our polarization?

But before diving into that mess that we've been

witnessing over the last two and a half weeks, I want to highlight what I wrote

about earlier this week in my weekly column for NBC News.com and that is the search for a third way and

the presidential race. The point of the column was threefold. One is I did want to point out that there is we do have a vacuum here.

There is no doubt right there's this there is a large majority of Americans that simply

want to turn the page in our current politics.

This isn't about a personal anything on Joe Biden.
