We'll be here when you get back. It was almost 9 p.m. and Leah and I were supposed to meet Mr. Kaddick at the house.

We were about 15 minutes away. We would have preferred to meet during the day. We can

get a better feel for the place during the day. But the customer insisted that the things that we were investigating tended to happen at night.

feel for how sound travels in from outside,

Speculation that someone trapped above the fire line had shattered the glass in a panic, attempting to get relief from the smoke.
