Summary

When a family moves to a forgotten speck on the map called Carson Ridge, they expect a quiet life in a small, school-provided home. What they get instead is a year and a half of unexplained footsteps, whispered voices, and something that won’t stay in the dark. At first, it’s easy to blame the nerves of a new town—but then the TV turns on by itself, chairs move on their own, and even the family dog refuses to enter certain rooms. Years later, a new family moves in... and flees.
