Summary

Throughout the 1920s, the children of Boston’s North End gathered in anticipation to see if their beloved Hot Dog Santa Claus, Axel Bjorklund, would once again arrive. Despite his vanishing fortunes and worsening health, he proved that even small gestures can leave a lasting legacy. About six months ago, I was scrolling through my newsfeed, and my eye landed on a

0:09.4

mashable story in which they ranked 11 hot dog brands from worst to best.

0:14.6

What really shocked me is that my favorite brand, that's Hebrew National, you know, the one

0:18.4

I've been eating since I was a kid.

0:20.4

It was ranked as the second worst of the bunch.

1:07.7

Anyway, their verdict placed Hebrew National again as the runner-up just behind Nathan's famous.

1:09.6

They wrote, quote,

1:15.1

1:21.7

So what does this all mean? Absolutely nothing. Everyone, of course, has a different sense

1:27.2

of taste, and I'm just going to keep going on eating my Hebrew Nationals.

1:31.1

But if you prefer a different brand, that's assuming you even eat hot dogs, just go right ahead. It's fine with me.

1:38.5

Well, today I have a true holiday story about a man whose generosity came wrapped in steam and a bun.
