Summary

Join Jim and Greg for the Columbus Day 3 Martini Lunch as they rejoice with the freed Israeli hostages. They also examine some serious Democrat hypocrisy over the government shutdown and shake their heads at the people wanting credit for Trump's Middle East deal.

First, they are thrilled and relieved that the 20 living Israeli hostages are now free from Hamas captivity. It's a day that many feared would never come. Jim explains why this is the best day of President Trump's second term so far and what he thinks finally got all parties to yes on Trump's plan.

Next, they applaud Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan for exposing the shutdown hypocrisy of Sen. Chris Murphy and enjoy Murphy’s awkward attempt to defend himself. Jim and Greg also preview what’s likely to happen if the partial shutdown drags on for several more weeks.

Finally, they shake their heads at the people implying they deserve some credit for the return of the living hostages. From British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to Sen. Elizabeth Warren to former Biden Sec. of State Antony Blinken, it's been fascinating and more than a little pathetic to watch.

massive democratic hypocrisy when it comes to shutdowns. We'll also be taking a look at how some folks who don't like Trump very much are either

trying to take credit for the deal that got these hostages released in Israel over the past

But Jim, the biggest story of the day, obviously, is the good martini.

And that is that the 20 remaining living Israeli hostages are all freed.

It happened in the middle of the night here.

But I could tell from social media and so forth, there's a lot of people that just didn't

go to bed last night wanting to make sure that this actually happened. And for the Israeli people, you know, we think of the thousand people that were basically killed on 10-7, two years ago, and then a few hundred initially that were taken prisoner. That's about the equivalent of 50,000 in this country. If you proportion out the population, they have about 10 million. We have 330 million and so forth.

So the fact that this was agreed to raised so much hope. I remember Tevi Troy while you're out saying for the Jewish New Year, he was saying, the main thing I wished for is that these hostages are home. Well, he gets his wish and so many other people do too. Watching these reunions has been amazing. Now we've got the more gruesome process of having the remains delivered of the 28 others

who did not survive and so much more.

Before I toss it to you, let me just toss it over to President Trump, who addressed
