It has since become an overgrown ruin, shunned, and considered a cursed. Yet despite that it is suddenly important again in a song of ice and fire as hordes of refugees flee there following the dreams of a woods witch.

As reports reached John of Whites in the Woods and Waters,

And what the heck is happening there now?

Could this be how the others get or at least dramatically increase the size of their army.

I would argue that there is so so much happening at Castle Black alone,

never mind the rest of the wall and beyond, especially at the end of a dance with dragons, that Hard Home tends to get lost in the shuffle a bit, especially for book readers, but even for those of us who are most obsessed.

Of course, because it was a little more prominent on the TV shows why I phrase it that way.

But Hart Home, however, heavily hues to those happenings, meaning it is tied inextricably to a lot of different plot lines. John decides to go to Hard Home, then changes his mind to march south,

then gets stabbed. So you can see why it's rather chaotic and caught up amongst other plot lines so it's connected to a lot of things and it's very important by itself.

It's a place destroyed by fire now overwhelmed by ice.

It is indeed cursed if you look at it that way with both natural and supernatural explanations

behind all that.
