In The Homestretch w/Adrian Durant we bring you interviews with inspiring athletes and sports personality. But our today's guest is not only an Olympic Hurdler but also a professional level singer; we have with us, the multi talented, Shevon Nieto. She won the bronze medal at the 2005 Central American and Caribbean Championships and finished fifth at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. At the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games she won a silver medal in 4x400 metres relay. She also competed at the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games, representing Jamaica and also competed in 2015 World Championships.
In this interview with Shevon, we talk about her early days, how she got into track and running, her time at University of South Carolina and competing in the Olympics. Apart from her sport career, we will also talk about her singing. In 2020, she sang an original song dedicated to her husband on America's Got Talent. Shevon was a participant in the Art of the Olympians and also moved on to the next round of America’s Got Talent with standing ovation from judges. In 2017, she married Olympic high jumper Jamie Nieto and recently she became mother of a baby boy. We will also talk about her life after having a child, why she had to leave America's Got Talent and when we can see her singing or running again.
