Lee, I just wanted to sound more professional than usual. In the darkest of the dark ages, holy relics were more than mere trinkets.

Spending time in the presence of a holy relic

could ensure a longer life, heal any ailments, forgive sins,

and shorten the time the medieval man or woman

would spend in purgatory.

Oh God, the vast was the worst. In a time before medical science I can see

the appeal for the entrepreneurial charlatan there was much money to be made in relics from the

holy lands brought to Europe by knights returning from the Crusades and a roaring degrees of authenticity swept the known world

Splinters from the true cross bones from saints burial shrouds they did the rounds, and many of these relics can still

be seen in churches today.

Even though most of them were fake, right?

It's not like, they're actually, that's the nail from the cross or something like that.

Is that, is that actually real?

There was the shroud of Turin right when people were like,

yeah Jesus' face was wrapped in that or something.

And then they were like, no, we tested it, it's not,

there's no, this was never wrapped around someone's face.
