Behind every great fortune lies a great crime because this is hell and great fortunes have been made by the medical

industry and health care professionals when it comes to providing

reproductive care namely contraceptives and abortions,

which was actually intentional as the advent of the American Medical Association

led to the demonization of midwives to provide reproductive care, care that was often provided by black

women who were seen as competition to white male doctors. The concept of

personhood and abortion is in modern times a history of

white male control over women's bodies and maybe in the past as well. As a kid

this was explained to me by my mother as her mother, my grandmother worked in a

Detroit women's shelter a century ago to protect women from abusive husbands from

violent policing and to protect a woman's access to an abortion and an abortion provider that my mother and grandmother referred to as an angel of death.

The history of personhood and abortion is complex, long complicated, but as today's guest

argues, one constant has been the desire for men to control the lives of women.
