0:24.4	think Nevada. Company towns are a topic that has always been really fascinating to
0:29.2	me and up until this series I wasn't really sure how to present it since they hardly seem right for a corporate casket
0:34.6	considering how they were and it wasn't just one corporation it was like a whole thing.
0:39.9	So today on Presum of the Past I'm happy to finally find a home for this topic and discuss it,
0:45.2	a little piece of history with all of you.

1:09.5	a company town is, well, a town that is dependent on one company for their employment housing
1:14.0	supplies I think you get the general picture see back in the late 1800s in remote
1:19.4	locations like railroad construction sites lumber camps camps, and coal mines,
1:22.8	jobs often existed far from established towns.

1:28.3	where one singular company owned all the buildings and businesses.
