Welcome to another episode of Mormon Discussion Podcast. I'm your host, Bill Real, and today we're going to talk about the Hill Comorah, namely it being in Palmyra, New York, and then suddenly the church and its apologist needing to move it to an unknown place.

Maybe it's in South America. Maybe it's in Central America. We don't know, but let's find out

why we don't know. The Book of Mormon ends with a catastrophic final battle. Two massive civilizations,

the Nephites, and the Lamanites gathered at a hill called Camorra. According to the text,

hundreds of thousands, even millions of people

fought and died there. The destruction was so complete that Mormon, the record keeper, buried the

writings of his people upon plates in that very hill before his people were wiped out. Moroni,

the final survivor, took some of those plates,

added his final words, and over a thousand years later, Moronai appeared to Joseph Smith and told him

where to find that smaller set of plates that would make up the Book of Mormon. Joseph was directed to

a hill near his home in Palmyra,

New York, and that hill has been identified by the church as the hill Camorra ever since.

Now this creates a simple expectation. If a massive civilization ending battle took place there,

the physical evidence should still exist.

Large battles leave large remains and items behind, weapons, armor, tools, and of course, mass graves,

signs of fortifications, and human remains.

But after nearly two centuries of observation, excavation, and study,

no such evidence has been found at the Hill Comorah in New York.

No remains of massive armies.

No remains of advanced civilizations.

No evidence of large-scale warfare, nothing matching the description in the Book of Mormon. Even faithful apologists have acknowledged that New York's

Camorra is a clean hill, meaning it has no evidence of Book of Mormon events taking place there. Now, this creates
