Summary

In today’s episode, I sit down with Alli Covington and Sebastian Hidalgo, the co-founders behind BOD Care, a health operating system built to improve performance rather than offer another box-checking perk. We talk about why most wellness programs fall flat, why engagement is the missing piece in corporate health, and how one-to-one coaching and daily accountability shift long-term behavior. Alli walks through the BOD System’s approach to thoughts, feelings, hormones, and actions, while Sebastian explains how a healthier workforce reduces chronic disease, boosts culture, and saves companies real money. Their vision is simple: create workplaces where people feel supported, connected, and genuinely healthier.

Well, we got to start with the BOD squad because there's two different things going on

0:33.3

there, BOD system and BOD care.

0:35.7

Yes.

0:36.1

And so I would love for maybe one of you to describe the system and then one to describe the actual care. I'll go with the system. How about that? Okay. That seems good. Because I started it, right? I've been coaching for a while and I've been in fitness for a very long time. I don't want to say how many decades because that would age me, but it's long enough. You look younger than me and I've known you a little while. And so what I noticed when I've had this fortune, this good fortune of being able to coach some really great people that had both mental health issues that they wanted to overcome and also physical issues that they wanted to overcome. And I noticed a pattern emerging every single time where they go from their thoughts,

1:17.7

their thoughts create feelings, their feelings impact their hormones, their hormones

1:21.4

impact their behavior and their behavior creates their reality. And so I created this loop to start to find ways to intervene. Because

1:31.6

most people in either medicine or fitness, they intervene at the behavior level or the hormone

1:38.9

level. They don't really intervene at the thought level. And so that's what I've started to do.

1:44.2

And that's the system that create, that's the BOD system.

1:47.7

And does BOD stand for something, or is it?

1:50.4

Behavior optimized development.

1:52.5

Behavior optimized development.

1:54.4

And of course, with every system, we need an applied science or applied math to that.

1:59.4

And I assume, Sebastian, that's where the care comes in.
