Hello and welcome to Sci-Tik teachers. I'm your host Samantha Faye and I'm Deb Bowen.

And we're happy to have you join us here this week as we continue our discussion of the heroes during.

This week our topic is Meeting the Goddess and we're going to be getting into that in just a moment.

But before we do, as you all know, we start with an animal and a crystal of the week.

Say what you like to start us off.

Absolutely. I'm happy to do that.

Our animal of the week is elk and I've talked about elk before. In fact, I'm getting ready to go through a series of animals that I've mentioned before.

But I keep getting people to say would you talk about it again? And so here we go.

And one of the reasons that I have chosen elk for this hero's journey episode is because elk is about feminine energy.

Elk is about stamina. Elk is about connecting to that deep feminine energy within us all.

She teaches us to pace ourselves and certainly during the holidays we need to think about that.

She isn't a fast runner although the elk certainly can run fast.

But she maintains a steady pace and she reminds us to do the same thing.

Interestingly, she has what's also called a curious warrior energy.

In that female elk really prefer to be with their own company.

Usually there's a male around who's there for protection but they really do call on a sisterhood of strengths that comes to them from being with their own gender.

So elk medicine, if it's shown up in your energy field at this point in time, is a reminder to you to seek sisterhood, to seek other women if you're a woman or other man if you're a man, to find within yourself those attributes that you cherish and learn from and share with other members of your own gender.

According to David Carson and Jamie Sam's beautiful book medicine card, they say elk could also be telling you to look at how you are holding up physically to the stresses in your life and to pace yourself so that you maintain an equilibrium of energy over the distance you plan to cover.

So maintain your stamina during this holiday season and seek the company and wisdom of your own gender.

This is a message to us from elk. Well, that's beautiful.
