If you got your Bible there, go ahead and open it up to the book of John, gospel account of John, chapter 14.

We began some time ago speaking on a series about the helper, and our main text is here in John 14.

And about verse 16, he said, I'll pray the Father, and he'll give you another comforter

that he may abide with you forever.

Even the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it sees him not, neither

knows him, but you know him, for he dwells with you and shall be in you.

Jesus was their comforter.

And he told them he's leaving.

And it upset them.

And he went on to tell them, no, it's expedient for you.

It's better for you that I go.

And they had a challenge grasping that.

What could be better than being with Jesus? But he no it'll be better for you because if I don't go the comforter won't come but when I go I'm going to pray the

father he's going to give you another comforter one like me of the same kind but this comforter is not just going to be with

you like I am he's going to be in you 24 7 and that word is fulfilled in the day in which

you and I live believers have the Holy Spirit in them. And he is the helper.

Skip on over to the 16th chapter, 16 and 13, says, how be it when he the spirit of truth has come he will guide you into all truth

he will not speak of himself but whatever he shall hear that shall he speak and he'll show you

things to come he shall glorify me for he shall receive of mine and shall show it unto you.

All things the Father hath are mine, therefore said I, he'll take of mine and shall show

it unto you.

The Holy Spirit is called the comforter, also called the helper, and here he mentions
