For most of us, connecting to a source of electrical power is pretty straightforward.

Take a power cord and plug it in.

Harnessing the Holy Spirit's power, however, is a different story.

Today, Dr. Evans explains why we aren't able to tap into the power of the Holy Spirit until we first allowed him to tap into us.

Jesus was getting ready to leave.

He was going to the cross, he was going to be crucified, rise from the dead, and forty days later, he would ascend to heaven.

And he knew that this perspective of him leaving would leave his followers in a slump.

They wouldn't know how to make it when he was not here.

So he called for a meeting with them in the upper room, just before it was time for him to go to the cross, to give them instructions on how to make it when he would be no longer here.

This is where Jesus introduces us to the work of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity.

God is a triune God, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.

One God composed the three co-equal persons who are one in essence while being simultaneously distinct in personality.

But Jesus is about to leave.
