Welcome to season two of the Head Start Embracing the Journey. I'm Nora McInerney and if you're new here on this show we share the personal stories of people living with chronic migraine to see how they took action to understand this disease and talk to their doctor about treatment. There are eight episodes of our first season

available for you that are worth binging. Making this show has been an honor and a learning experience and the people

we've met are incredible. People like Kossam and Priya who pushed through moments of

isolation in their chronic migraine journey by throwing themselves

into advocacy and art.

I am one of what seems to be five black men in America living with chronic migraine. I say it in a joking way, but

honestly y'all, this is how I feel. So if one person can learn from my experience or if one person

picks up on something that I say or that I write and

it resonates with them that's the win-win for me.

I think over the years me missing from different moments in their lives. The guilt just builds up and builds up and that adds to the stress and painting these images what it's done for me.

It's brought a certain acceptance into my life.

Or guests like Meg, who shared how she found unwavering support from her family.

My dad, he was such a huge part of my journey.

We would just be sitting on the couch and my whole life was now about chronic migraine and

he was able to help me take breaks and watch silly shows or talk about the weather, you know, which sounds silly, but Chicago, so it was very prevalent.

These are real conversations with real people who are living with chronic migraine.

I will be joined yet again by my friend Dr. Christopher Ryan and special guest hosts who are

all too familiar with the chronic migraine journey.

The thing that breaks your heart in half
