There are houses with histories, the kind of places that wear their past like a heavy coat,

stitched together by generations of lives lived within their walls.

Some of these homes have scars you can see,

sun-fated wallpaper,

scratches on the floorboards,

names carved into wooden beams in the attic,

but every now and then you find a house with scars you can feel.

A house where the silence presses in a little too tightly.

The air always seems colder just past the threshold.

Tonight's story comes from one such house when it's a place that stood long before its most

recent owners were even born. A farmhouse built from heavy stone perched in a quiet stretch

of Pennsylvania countryside. To the outside world, it was nothing special.

Just another piece of fading Americana, slowly succumbing to time.

But inside, there were things that didn't belong to history, things that didn't leave

when the previous owners packed up and moved away.

For two sisters growing up in that house, it started with sounds,

distant footsteps and empty rooms,

the slow scrape of furniture being dragged when no one was upstairs,

their parents called it imagination.
