My story is about the infamous haunted Hinsdale house located in western New York.

There's a bit of lore I need to explain first.

The house was built in 1871 and sits in the middle of nowhere.

Over the years, many rumors have surrounded the land and what happened there.

But because of the time period, documentation was limited.

Only a few events were ever recorded in newspapers, and the rest is part of legend.

The house was an old farmhouse that belonged to the McMahon family.

It was rumored to have once been an inn or bed and breakfast, possibly serving as a stagecoach stop.

One story claimed the McMahon brothers would rob and kill wealthy passengers and hide their bodies in the crawl space beneath the house.

Whether that's true or not is impossible to say. Again, documentation is scarce.

In the 1970s, a family purchased the property, which sat on around 10 acres of land and

included a pond. Before 1970, there had been a barn where the pond now sits.

The family consisted of a mom, dad, and four children.

During the few years they lived there, it said that they experienced unexplainable things.
