You know, we've talked so much recently about casting announcements for the TV show.

And I saw a piece of news recently about an actor who apparently had been approached for a role

in the Wizarding World franchise and ultimately turned it down. And it got me thinking, maybe we should look back

at some of the actors who might have been, could have been playing the iconic characters

that we know and love and recognize from the franchise today. So there are two really interesting cases at the top that I think are pretty well known,

but there were some details about the two of them that were new to me. So one of them was Peter

O'Toole. The other was Ian McKellen, both iconic actors who could have carried the role of Dumbledore. Both of them

were pursued after Richard Harris passed away. So before there was Michael Gambon, before there was

Harry, did you put your name in the gavel to fire? There was maybe going to be Peter

O'Toole or Ian McAllen. So what's so interesting about Peter O'Toole, I didn't know this,

but apparently Richard Harris was his best friend. And he just ultimately couldn't take the role

because of that. But the thing that I find really funny is the Ian McKellen story,

because I guess Richard Harris didn't think a lot of Ian McKellen. I don't know if anyone was ever

aware of this. I guess actors beef sometimes. I vaguely remember this, that just the two of them didn't get along very well.
