I think we're the great gatekeepers of American sports, whether it's this show or this station.

There's a reason that we became obsessed with Lance Armstrong.

Because for whatever reason, no offense to Greg Lamont, maybe it was just the different time.

But when Lance Armstrong started winning Tour de France's, everybody became interested in it.

And we would watch it.

Right.

Like, I wasn't watching it like Craig, but we would watch it because it was an American doing things on a stage where Americans haven't thrived before.

Correct.

And in the world of tennis, which I'm so whole hog bought into, it's been so long this American drought that we've had that it almost feels like

American tennis never existed, that we didn't get the likes of John McEnroe and Arthur Ash and

Jimmy Connors and Pete Sampras and Agassie and Currier and these dudes that were just

part of pop culture.

I mean, the Nike campaigns when we were in college that were wrapped around Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi,

and Agassi in particular, were incredible.

I mean, those dudes, whether you like the sport or not, they were larger than life figures.

Would you not agree?

Yeah, absolutely.

Because I don't think, you know, you probably weren't consumed by it and watching it, but you were very aware of those.

Absolutely.

You had to be an idiot not to be.

And we have gone now a full generation and beyond where...

It's almost a Cowboys drought.
