We all would like to think that we know where we are going and how to get there.

But at every stage in life, we need divine direction. God has promised to guide us if we simply follow.

The fifth and final section of Psalms are referred to as

Deuteronomy Psalms because they remind us to keep returning to the truth of God's word.

We are in God's Hallelujah chorus at the end of the Psalms.

We looked at Psalm 146, where the hallelujah begins, and now we come to Psalm 147.

Praise ye the Lord, for it is good to sing praises unto our God, for it is pleasant and praise is comely.

If you come to the end of Psalm 147, verse 20, here's how he ends.

He hath not dealt so with any nation, and as for his judgments, they have not known them.

Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 147 contrast those who know the true God and those who do not.

In other words, it shows Israel as a praising people,

a people who have something to praise for and someone to praise,

and these other nations that do not know God.

And remember, Israel's mission was one thing.

It was to lift up their good God in a bad world.

That's why God chose the nation of Israel, not just to bless them, but to bless the whole world

through them. Some things never change. What do you think the people of God are to do today?

We're to be lifting up our good God in a bad world. If you're a Christian, you're to be lifting up the goodness

of our God. God's people have always been a praising people. So Psalm 147 teaches us something about the
