We're recording this before the Lakers have played the game against Orlando. Anthony Davis is going to be out for that one once again. Hopefully he'll be back later in the week. But this game against Orlando represents the halfway point of the season, 41 games in. So we're going to kind of take stock of where the Lakers are, where they've overperformed,

where they've underperformed relative to our expectations earlier on in this season.

I want to start with the defense.

The defense is better than we expected it to be.

We thought they'd be, you know, in terms of net rating or excuse me, defensive rating in that like 8 to 12 type range is what I think what I thought

we said prior to the season right now they're third their fourth in offensive rating I'm going off

basketball reference it's a little different than how they calculated on nba.com deris do you have them

at third as well on nba.com on nba., their third, they've been basically going back and forth

between third and fourth for the past handful of games. They're one of the best defenses in the NBA.

Ranking aside, they're even beyond just the, where they rank, you know, in terms of defensive

rating, when they turn the screws, when they're really locked in, that's like, wow, that's a really
