1:54.8	Have you ever heard of the Red Barn murder?
1:57.7	Well, if you haven't, you're about to. Born on July 24, 1801, Maria Martin was the daughter of a Polstead mull catcher.
2:07.6	What's a mole catcher?
2:09.6	Well, I guess it's self-explanatory.
2:12.2	His name was Thomas Martin, and his wife was named Grace.
2:16.0	But when Maria was just nine years old, her mother Grace passed away.
2:19.8	So Maria had to take over her role as being the mom of the house, and she took it seriously.
2:25.2	She was a highly intelligent little girl, though.
2:28.0	She valued her education, so she refused to let anybody get in the way of that.

2:35.0	Her father eventually remarried to a woman named Anne that took over the motherly duties so Maria could focus on her education.
