details. My name is James Stacey, and I'm joined as ever by my friend and co-host, Jason Heaton. Jason, how are we doing? Well, if I'm honest, I'm feeling a little low energy today, a little rundown. It's kind of a gray, chilly day here. And it just occurred to me as I was looking over our notes that there was one thing I was going to mention that I'm not doing it to pat myself on the back,

but maybe to encourage other people. And it just occurred to me as I was looking over our notes that there was one thing I was going

people to do is I gave blood last week.

I've always been a little squeamish around needles and strangely enough, this was the very

first time in my life.

I've deliberately gone to give blood. Maybe I'll lean on that as an excuse for feeling run down. You know, I'm down a pint since late last week. Depleted. Jokes aside, I do think that, um, I do wonder if after you give blood, it wasn't a terribly cold day that day, but I remember just being really cold for the rest of the day and I thought, you know, if you're operating with less blood volume, you know, it's probably a good chance that that's, anyway, that's my armchair, phlebotomist, a little bit of a theory there. But yeah, it was good. I, you know, I, uh, I was surprised to learn. I think there was a statistic that said only 11% of the, at least in the

U.S., the population is eligible to give blood based on maybe you're taking drugs or, you know, health issue or whatever. And of those, I don't know if it's of those, but only 3% to actually give blood and there's a little shortage. So I felt kind of compelled to do it and it was easy and it made me feel good.

So I felt like I felt like a kid. Oh, good stuff. Yeah, that's a good reminder. I mean, it's one of those things like not something we talk about. Obviously, not really the generalized purview of the show, but a good reminder that it's something that you could do. and if you're able to, I didn't realize the numbers were that low. I'm sure there are similarly low in Canada. Definitely something to focus on, especially if they're doing a drive in your neighborhood or something like that. And it's even easier. Yeah, right.
