I am going to defend the Packers' use of thresholds, of models, of whatever you want to call it.

I know it's not everyone's favorite thing, but they are important.

Now, I have some criticisms of their use of positional value or lack thereof, and we'll get to that.

And I have some criticisms with the way the cornerback room has been handled, and we'll get to that.

But I've done this bit before, and so I don't want to go too much over that.

But if you go back at their history, particularly in the top 100, when they have gone outside of their preferred model of athleticism, that is when they have had problems.

The criticism of just take good football players and don't worry about the models has

actually led the Packers astray way more than it has benefited them.

Josh Myers didn't have an athletic profile.

They took him over Creed Humphrey.

Jay Sternberger had a mediocre athletic profile.

They took him over Terry McLaurin.

Amari Rogers over Amonra St. Brown. Significant athletic differences. And so when the Packers have Josiah de Guara

over, that was a weird draft at that point, but like that was outside of their normal models.
