reign of Tutmoes the third, Men Keparra, one of Egypt's most famous and perhaps most

important pharaohs.

In the early 15th century B.C. E. around 1495 approximately The King himself was still a child

around 1495 approximately.

Tutmos the third came to power in unusual circumstances.

The King himself was still a child when he formerly inherited rule, and power was actually

wielded by his aunt or stepmother, the Queen Pharaoh Hat Shepsoot.

Hat Shepsoot would govern Egypt for 22 years.

Officially, these were the first two decades of Tutmoses rule, but for those 22 years, young Tutmos was a background figure at best.

He appeared on royal monuments commissioned by Hart Shepsut, but his actual political or executive authority was probably

quite small and it's hard to confirm. But when Hat Shepsut died in the 22nd year of her rule, Tutmo's the 3rd formerly took control of the Egyptian government.

And what followed was an incredibly successful reign.

By the standards of the Egyptian monarchy, Tutmo's the third is one of the more significant figures.

His tenure in power would see significant achievements in the military and political sphere,

and his people would construct incredible monuments up and down the Nile Valley.

But there is so much more to Tutmoes than simply military campaigns and grand stone buildings.
