What image comes to your mind?

Seriously?

Think about nothing.

What does it mean to not be a thing?

Maybe you think of pitch darkness.

Maybe you picture yourself floating in the vacuum of space.

Ameless, lost.

The thing is, we live in a universe of things,

of stars, of dirt, of trees, of clouds.

But before, there were things.

What was it like for there to be no thing?

I think if we could sit down with like these biblical authors,

and help them see our cosmology,

I think they would want us to equate the dark waters of to home

with our modern concept of nothingness.
