Today, I want to identify the greatest danger zone in your life.

This is a critical issue that might be holding you back. It's not what you'd

expect either, but it is something every successful person needs to address. First off, what do you

think is the greatest danger zone that you face in either your personal or your professional life?

No, it's not some fancy tech disruption. It's not economic meltdowns or cutthroat competition.

Hell, it's not even your cholesterol level or failing marriage.

The real danger here is, the one that just sneaks up on you

and bites you in the arse when you're not looking.

This danger zone can be subtle, thus insidious, yet very profound.

The danger zone I'm talking about here is the zone of average. This is the zone where things

aren't excellent, but they aren't terrible either. This zone is characterized by a state of

comfort where mediocrity is maintained,

because things aren't bad enough to prompt change, yet not good enough to truly be fulfilling

or successful. In this zone of average is where inertia and complacency can set in,

leading to missed opportunities, stagnation, and ultimately failure.

One of the most striking examples of the dangers posed by the zone of average is the story

of Kodak.

Once the big dogs of photography, Kodak is the one who actually invented the digital camera in 1975, but did they run with it? No.

They were too comfy with their film business. After all, their business was still profitable
