Mark 12 verses 29 through 31.

Jesus' answer, the most important is here, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one,

and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind,

with all your strength. The second is this, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

There is no other commandment greater than these. I know that if you follow this podcast,

not long ago, as we were praying through the gospel of Matthew, when we came to Matthew chapter 22,

we prayed according to very similar verses, Jesus saying almost exactly the same thing there.

But I want to lead us to pray again, according to the first and greatest commandment,

and the second greatest commandment, according to Jesus, because, well, it's the greatest commandment,

we need to pray for this all the time. And I just want to encourage you, as you think about,

praying in your own life and praying for others' lives. We often ask each other,

how can I pray for you? Which is a good question to ask. And there are things we want to know

that are going on in people's lives that we can be praying specifically for. But let's not forget

that most of the things we need to pray for each other for, we don't have to ask others about,

they're in God's Word. We have so many things in God's Word that we need to pray for each other.

And I would put these verses in Mark chapter 12, as well as Matthew chapter 22, at the top of the

list, if you're ever wondering how to pray for someone, pray for this, pray that they would love

God wholeheartedly, that they would love others selflessly. I would love for you to pray that

for me, so Lord ever brings me to your mind, just pray for those two things, and that'll cover

pretty much everything else. And the same is true for anybody we're praying for, that we would

love God wholeheartedly and love others selflessly. I pray this over my wife and my kids all the time,
