There are few burdens and the struggles on earth

like problems in a family.

And the reverse of that is equally true.

There are few blessings in life like the blessing of family,

a home that is not perfect because there's no perfect home,

but a home that is becoming what God desires and designed for it to become.

We've come in our study through these

traveler Psalms to Psalm 128 and much like the previous Psalm it is a Psalm for

family. Remember we're making this journey together. Now the Psalm just before

it that we've already studied was a Psalm for Solomon. David, his father,

is instructing him about the right kind of home and the blessing of it. And that thought

continues in Psalm 128, where the Bible says, blessed is everyone that feareth the Lord, that walketh

in his ways, for thou shalt eat the labor of thine hands,

happy shall thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thou wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides

of thine house, thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold that thus shall the man be

blessed that feareth the Lord. The Lord shall

bless thee out of Zion. Thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. Yea,

thou shalt see thy children's children and peace upon Israel. What a tremendously encouraging psalm this is. The first word out of God's mouth in
