Go to Matthew, please, the third chapter, Matthew 3.

In Matthew the third chapter, when Jesus was baptized and he came up out of the water and the Spirit of God came on him,

verse 17, last verse.

He said, a voice from heaven came.

God spoke right out of the sky.

He said, this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.

The father is saying it not just for the master's sake, but for everybody that's around, and we're still talking about it all these centuries later, that he said, this is my beloved

son, and I am well pleased with him, in him.

This is before any ministry.

Before any healings, any deliverances, any miracles, any preaching, any teaching, before.

We have to watch about being

performance oriented.

Thinking that

when we accomplish something,

when it's done,

God would be pleased with us.

When we see the results, when we see the results, when we see the effect, then God's pleased.

But wouldn't that be him walking by sight?

And, you know, he don't walk by sight. He wouldn't tell you to do something he doesn't do

what's he's seeing about the master that pleases him so much what is it like we're saying

this was before the ministry this is before he's gone're saying, this was before the ministry.

This is before he's gone to the cross.
