This week on Seeing Red I'm going to be going a little bit rogue again

similarly to the titanic episode because there isn't really a crime or a criminal to discuss but the events we're going to be talking about did influence change and there were really sadly a lot of deaths so hopefully it fits enough with the the kind of market and I hope

you enjoy the episode. I'm sort of laughing because you've said it's okay

there's deaths in it so it kind of fits in and I wouldn't do that ordinarily but

this is this happened 70 years ago didn't it 70 plus years ago so I always feel it's

it's it's sort of a bit okay to joke a little bit, although it's not funny.

No, I know what you mean. It's not funny and it isn't, you know, it's not funny at all and actually

when you look at the figures it is

really really shocking but yeah I was just trying to clutch at straws of how I can

make this even slightly relevant like when you first went abroad and I was like

Mark this is a UK true crime podcast and you were like well his wife's cousin's dog was British.

I remember that yeah.

When I mentioned the great smog of London or the Great Smog of 1952 in one of our most recent episodes,

quite a few people did get in touch and say, yes, crack on and present this as an episode.

So also, if you don't think it's relevant blame them not me.

It's a part of our reasonably recent history here in the UK but whilst I had heard of it I didn't

know a huge amount of detail and then a couple of years ago I saw a really fascinating and very well made documentary on the telly about it.
