football podcast. I'm Dan Schneier joined. It's always my host, Nick Falado. Today we're doing something a little bit different on the Big Blue Banter podcast. We're having a little bit of fun. It's New Year's Eve and the boys are hungry. We're getting ready to eat good stuff tonight. this is the one day of the year where i've observed nick eating a little bit unhealthy and it's

great to see. I love when I saw it. But today we're not talking about food. We are talking about the New York Giants, general manager Joe Shane, his potential future. The future of this franchise. And in order to do so, we thought we'd have a little bit of fun. We're bringing on two guests today.

We're going to have a little fun-style debate.

And we're going to start with Will from Section 106. We can introduce him to the show. Now, there he is, Mr. William. And go ahead. What's going on, everybody? Nice to see you. Happy New Year's Eve, or as I like to say, happy Ramsey's Barton's birthday, Eve.

bringing on sal you guys know him from one from wow he's a giant pod a giant pod. What's going on, Sal? What's going on, guys? Happy New Year's Eve. So here's what we're doing today. For those who don't know, I prepped it a little bit in our YouTube page and in our chat, BCC. We are going to have a debate on Joe Shane, current Giants general manager. There's two sides to the coin.

There's two sides to every argument, and these two will debate back and forth about whether

or not Joe Shane is the right guy to save this franchise. I mean, this Giants franchise needs

saving. We're living this horrific situation out year after year. And we're going to start with

a little elevator pitch from both sides. Will today will be defending Joe Shane and telling us why Joe Shane can bring the Giants back success. And Sal, for those who follow him, probably already know, we'll be taking the other side. Then Nick and I will play a little bit of role moderator. We'll just get into a free flowing conversation like you've seen when we have other guests on. And we'll get the chat involved too, maybe do some fun stuff with the chat. So we're going to start with a little 60 second each elevator pitch. Nick, you are on duty of watching, setting a timer. And if these guys go over 60 seconds, go around the horn style. Whatever you got to do, just start to play music over them and we'll get it going. But a bunch of drops, man. I can use them all. You've been waiting to use them all. All right. Will, give us a little 60 second pitch to start and we'll have a lot more time to suss this out. But what's kind of your 60 second elevator pitch for Joe Shane? Yeah, I'd say really quickly. I mean, obviously six and 27 over the last two years is terrible,

especially when two of those wins are really games that not a lot of fans wanted to win.

But when I look at what change was hired to do, give us a quarterback for a long term,

clean up the cap situation, finally fix the offensive line, put a couple of cornerstones together that could be here for the team being competitive. And I think from a long-term picture, he's done that. I had just as many issues as anybody else, even from months ago with some certain decisions, Slayton, the kicker, the kicker again. But all that being said, I think he's had a very specific job to do, and he's done his best to do it.
